About
the Mobility Service – do you have poor sight or know
someone that does ?
Brighton & Hove Council are working in partnership with
Guide Dogs for the Blind to offer an increased mobility service
to people living in the Brighton and Hove area.
If you have problems crossing the road, find it difficult to
go out independently, want to know how to use a white cane,
or generally feel unsafe outside due to poor sight then the
Mobility Project may be able to assist you. With advice and
appropriate training, they aim to help adults and older people
with sight loss retain both the desire and confidence to get
out and about safely.
For more information about this project contact Amanda Barley
at the Sensory Team, Brighton & Hove City Council on 01273

THOUGHTS……….how
wonderful
How wonderful it is to come out of the darkness and into the
light
- where all is crystal-clear, constant and true…
- the sun, the moon, the stars, the clouds, and beyond into
infinity, the eternal universe.
What calmness you bring, what joy to feel truly alive, to love
and to be at peace.
And yet so small, but vital roles we play
- mere drops of water in the oceans of life. |

| Adult
Learners’ Week May 2003 |
| Jackie
Head from Transage displays her patchwork quilts at Adult
Learners Week. Jackie led a group of 12 Transage volunteers
during a rainy, windswept day on Hove lawns. The group taught
members of the public skills in patchwork whilst making a
patchwork quilt which was raffled at the end of the day. The
group are presently engaged in working with Middle Street
School making world costumes.
