The Help at Home Scheme is for older people who are on a low income, have a degree of mobility and only require basic domestic or gardening help.

The Help at Home Scheme provides a matching service for home helps and gardeners, all of whom are self employed. The Service carries out interviews, takes up references and does regular CRB checks on the workers on behalf of the clients.

The availability of the service is dependent upon the location of the workers registered with the scheme.
Monitoring is carried out for the first six months, but it is for the client to contact us should any problems arise. The office is able to receive referrals between: 09.00 am and 4.00 pm Tuesday to Friday. Outside these times those making referrals will be asked to phone back.

An hourly rate is charged for general household tasks e.g. cleaning, laundry and shopping. The recommended rate of pay is £8.00 per hour. Gardening work £10.00 per hour.
