VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED FOR THESE ACTIVITIES
Age Concern’s work depends upon the commitment of volunteers.
We require volunteers to:
- ~NEW~ Mini-bus volunteer driver: Take clients out on various day trips, offer assistant whilst clients get on and off the bus . Must have a full & clean UK driving licence, with D1 category and preferably a MiDAS certificate.
- Fundraising & Communications: Provide support to Age Concern through fundraising, supporter development and events activities
- Computer Drop-in Centre: Assist in the running of our Computer Centre giving one to one support to users as required.
- Counselling: Work with older people for up to 10 weeks, dealing with loneliness, bereavement, depression or anxiety. Volunteers must hold a Diploma or related qualification (or be well advanced in training) and adhere to standards set by the BACP.
- ‘Horizons’ Re-enablement Project: Help people to regain their independence and confidence following an illness or stay in hospital. Volunteers provide non-medical support as part of a holistic care package.
- Information and Advice Service: Advise and assist clients over an extensive range of subjects, including State Benefits.
- Insurance: Prepare insurance quotes for clients both face to face and over the phone as well as dealing with a range of insurance queries. Maintaining vital contacts between Age Concern and Age UK retail outlets. Promote Age UK insurance products at small events.
- Receptionist: Assist in the reception area with telephone enquiries, greeting visitors, directing them to the appropriate office and carrying out administrative tasks as required.
- Shops: Help with serving customers, pricing items and replenishing stock in one of the six Age UK retail outlets in Brighton, Hove and Portslade.
